The Lion in Winter

"Daddy? Take me back. Please. Can't we try again?"

"My what a greedy little trinity you are: king, king, king. Two of you must learn to live with disappointment."

"Let's deny them all and live forever." "Tusk to tusk through all eternity."

"You're better at this than I thought you'd be." "I wasn't sure you'd noticed."

"I won't give up one to get the other. I won't trade off Alais or the Aquitaine to this- this walking pustule!"

"There's no affection for me here. You wouldn't think I'd want that, would you?"

"There's no sport in hurting me; it is so easy."

"Did you rehearse all this or are you improvising?"

"What's my crime? Is it some childhood score, some baby hurt? When I was six and you were sixteen, did I brutalize you? What?"
